David Gauntlett, Professor of Media and Communications, University of Westminster, and author of Making is Connecting
David Gauntlett is Professor of Media and Communications at the University of Westminster, where he co-directs the UK’s leading centre for media and communications research. He is the author of several books, including Creative Explorations (2007) and Making is Connecting (2011). He has made several popular YouTube videos, and produces the website about media and identities, Theory.org.uk. He has conducted collaborative research with a number of the world’s leading creative organisations, including the BBC, the British Library, and Tate. For almost a decade he has worked with LEGO on innovation in creativity, play and learning.
In this filmed presentation, David answered questions that were crowd sourced through social media channels. He discussed making as a collaborative activity, and how it is enabled by digital communications technology.
