Marie O’Mahony

Marie O’Mahony is Professor of Advanced Fashion + Textiles at Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) University, Toronto, and Visiting Professor, University of the Arts, London.

Marie O’Mahony is Professor of Advanced Fashion + Textiles at Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) University, Toronto and Visiting Professor at University of the Arts, London.  She is also a textile and technology consultant, author and curator.  Books include TechnoTextiles 2, TechnoTextiles, Cyborg – The Man Machine and Sportstech all published by Thames and Hudson with the most recent Advanced Textiles for Health and Wellbeing published in 2011.  Exhibitions curated include The Fabric of Fashion an international touring exhibition for the British Council, Hitec-Lotec a Crafts for Now Consortium touring exhibition and TechnoThreads for Science Gallery, Trinity College, Dublin.  Clients include Zaha Hadid, Seymour Powell, Ove Arup and Partners, NIKE and Hussein Chalayan.  Marie has also served on the Australian Government’s Textile, Clothing and Footwear Innovation Council (TCFIIC) from 2009-2011.
