Mitchell Joachim

Architect, Terreform ONE/ Professor, NYU Mitchell Joachim, Ph.D. is the founding Co-President of Terreform ONE. He is an Associate Professor at NYU and EGS in Switzerland. He was formerly an architect at Gehry Partners, and Pei Cobb Freed.

Mitchell is a TED Senior Fellow and has been awarded fellowships with Moshe Safdie and the Martin Society for Sustainability, MIT. He was chosen by Wired magazine for ‘The Smart List: 15 People the Next President Should Listen To’, and Dwell magazine featured him as ‘The NOW 99’ in 2012. Rolling Stone magazine also honoured Mitchell in its’The 100 People Who Are Changing America’.

Mitchell has won many awards, including the Victor Papanek Social Design Award,  the Zumtobel Group Award for Sustainability and Humanity, the History Channel Infiniti Award for City of the Future, and Time Magazine’s Best Invention, with the MIT Smart Cities Car. He earned his Ph.D. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his MAUD at Harvard University, and his M.Arch. at Columbia University.
